Morla the Aged One is part of The Neverending Story series by artist and printmaker Moatzart, which illustrated the kids novel by the same name. 
 
Aytreyu seeks Morla The Aged One for her advice, as she is the wisest and oldest creature in all of Fantastica - essentially a giant turtle!
 
He climbes on her back as she is as large as a mountain, and when she moves he falls down in a tree, and realises who Morla is. She guides him to the next part of his journey and gives him essential information on his quest.
