This beauty is currently at @greenwichprintmakers for the new Life in Motion show! 🖤

My next sit in the gallery is on the 10th of May and I'm so excited to see all the new work by the members! 🌿

This print Effigies you might remember is based on the Effigies poetry book I illustrated a while ago now, and I thought it was fitting as it is such a busy print, with different characters going in all directions! 👀

The author used them all to explore the different facets of the human experience, you can find Lady Death there or The Noctambulant, The Migrant and The Mariner! 🌷

Definitely one of my favourite prints I've made!

I rarely post finished prints on here and I think this started because they didn't do as well for me! 🌿

But this is one of my all time favourites so I thought i would share it as it is! 🖤

It's called Arienne Dreams of Power, and inspired by the life models at @draw_brighton, I imagined the inner world of a character who might be dreaming of strength! 🌷

I think Arienne is powerful in herself, but she is surrounded by women she looks to instead! It was my way of exploring what each of our powerful selves might look like! 🌸

Currently on view @liberationartgallery, and soon to travel to @derbyprintopen from the 1-30th of June, but also up on my site in a limited edition of 50! 💙

Yesterday I did a quick test print of the multiblock wood engraving I am planning! 🖤

While there's so much to fix, as i need to go back and do some carving into all the blocks, I'm also still so excited for the results! 👀

I'm always so scared to share anything unfinished yet, as I always know how it should look in my head, and there's no way for me to fully communicate that! 🙈

I also never liked sharing anything other than work I'm 100% happy with! 🌿

I want to start sharing all parts of the process more often, including failures or things that need to be amended, especially as I'm transitioning to techniques with more steps like multiblock!

What do you think?? It might demistify the art making process though I think that's a good thing!

I have been working hard today adding layers to this wood engraving and it's sister! 🖤

I hope to have them both done next week, though I shouldn't promise as I'm still so new with multiblock, and I'm also trying to mix a few techniques with this one! 👀

I'm starting to really enjoy the preparatory sides of printmaking more though, where you're not necessarily making huge creative decisions! 🌿

I used to not like all the prep as I was so impatient to see the results, and now it's such a welcome flow! 🌷

How has your Friday been? It's my first day this week where I haven't felt like a headless chicken!

I did learn a lot though and I love the look of it and where it pushes my work! So I'm already planning my next ones, as well as a professional sharpening of my tools asap! 🌷
